Giving made easier with Automatic Funds Transfer
We want to help make it easier to give to the church whether you miss a Sunday, go on vacation or whatever the reason. In an effort to make 'tithing/giving' to the church easier, we want to remind you that we now utilize eservice Electronic Funds Transfer for fund transfer services. E.service allows church members to contribute to the church by means of a transfer directly from their checking, savings, and debit accounts to the church account. The contribution will show up on your checking account statement, and you will still receive your quarterly report from the church financial office. You may use electronic fund transfers anytime, day or night. There is no set-up fee or monthly service fees.
To make your electronic contribution to Stallings United Methodist Church click here, and follow the instructions for making your tithe/giving contribution.
You may choose to designate your funds to the general budget, building fund, or other purposes. Contributions may be made on a one-time basis, or set up on a recurring schedule throughout the year.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: How can funds be withdrawn directly from my account?
Only with your authorization via your electronic signature. No one can deduct money from your account automatically unless you specifically authorize it.
Q: Are electronic contributions risky?
No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check, and it can´t be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. All Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) transactions are governed by strict national rules and guidelines. Over four billion EFT transactions are processed annually in the United States.
Q: When would this automatic contribution be taken from my account?
On the signup screens, you can specify whether you want your contribution made one time, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly or as designated. When the date you have selected falls on a weekend or holiday, the transaction will occur on the next banking day.
Q: Can I try out the service by giving one time?
Yes. You may try Online Giving by selecting "One Time" in the frequency drop down box in the signup process. You will see how easy and efficient the process really is.
Q: If I don´t write checks, how do I keep my checkbook balance straight?
Your contribution is made on a pre-established day, so you can deduct it from your check record then.
Q: How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
Your bank statement will include an itemized list of automatic gifts given from your account. We will continue to provide you with a personal giving statement for your tax records.
Q: Can I give to the Building Fund, Memorials/Honorariums, Child Care Center, Youth events, Mission Trips, etc.?
Yes, during the signup process you may choose any of these options, as well as the General Fund.
Q: What if I change banks or accounts or want to change the amount of my contribution?
You can change your giving choices at any time. Simply click here – Change or Cancel your recurring donation – then enter your email and password.
Q: How do I participate in the weekly offering if my contribution is automatically deducted from my bank account?
If you wish, you can write "I am giving online" on the giving envelope found in the back of the pews and place it in the offering basket, but it is not necessary.
Q: Is there any charge to me from my bank to give online?
No. Electronic funds transfers carry no bank fees.
Q. Can I designate my giving online?
Yes, just fill in the appropriate blanks in the on-line form. For funds or items not listed, please fill in the "Other" spot and be sure to fill in the intention (name) of your gift.
Q. Can I use my credit card to contribute?
No, not at this time. A $2.00 processing fee for every $100.00 given by credit card is charged to the church account, which would lower the benefit to the church. Remember Proverbs 22:7 teaches us, "the borrower is the slave of the lender" and we discourage using the credit card option if it results in you incurring debt.
